My name is Zachary Ryan Allen. I am currently in my senior year at Ball State University where I am studying English/language arts education and theatrical studies. In my time here I have been actively involved with the theatre department, both onstage and behind the scenes. I have worked for the University Theatre box office as well as doing work in the costume shop. Last summer I was part of the workshop cast of the original musical THE CIRCUS IN WINTER, which is based on the novel of the same name by Ball State professor, Cathy Day. I will return to this show for the mainstage production directed by Beth Turcotte this fall. Over the past three years, I have also performed with campus organizations such the University Programming Board and the Down the Line Theatre Company as well as community organizations like the Muncie Civic Theatre. I have also been involved with community academic programs. My sophomore year I tutored English at Academic Achievers, a tutoring program for students of the Muncie public school system, alongside several of my Ball State colleagues.
Prior to Ball State, I attended Western High School in Russiaville, Indiana, where I graduated with an Academic Honors Diploma. In my time there I was heavily involved with the Drama Club and the Robed Choir, for both of which I served as president. During this time, I also remained active in the community by performing with the Kokomo Civic Theatre, helping to present musical performances for the senior citizens of the Sterling House, and participating in Relay for Life Activities.
